Dietitian

Dietitian accountable for providing medical nutrition therapy. Acts with independence in being accountable for the assessment and analysis of dietary needs. Creates medical nutrition and diet plans based on the assessed health needs of the patients/clients as directed by doctors. Counsels patients/clients on how to lead healthier lifestyles and prevent or manage health issues related to diet. Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing patient care.

Typically requires state licensure as a Dietitian.

Dietitian Team Lead

Supervisory-level Dietitian accountable for the delivery of a nutrition program and/or the supervision of medical nutrition therapy. Plans, directs, and evaluates the food service program and/or provide medical nutrition therapy within a facility, or assists in such activities. Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing patient care. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.

Typically requires state licensure as a Dietitian and 3-5 years of experience as a Dietitian.
