Brittany Frederick, director of communications for the Mississippi State Personnel Board (MSPB), has been selected to join the 2025 class of the Staff Academy for Governmental Excellence (SAGE) program. Hosted by the Council of State Governments Southern Office (CSG South), SAGE brings together rising leaders from legislative, judicial, executive, and agency staff across the Southern United States to strengthen leadership skills and foster regional collaboration.
As MSPB’s director of communications, Frederick leads MSPB’s strategic messaging for state agencies and their HR staff members, oversees agency publications and the MSPB website, serves as MSPB’s public information officer, supports the agency’s legislative and policy priorities, and coordinates communications efforts across multiple divisions within MSPB.
Frederick has more than a decade of public sector communications experience. She joined MSPB in 2014 and remains active in leadership roles and professional development. She has chaired the awards committee for the National Association of State Personnel Executives (NASPE) since 2021. Frederick is a founding member of the Mississippi Chapter of the Public Sector Human Resources Association (PSHRA) and coordinated multiple PSHRA events, including the Southern Regional Conference in 2023. She holds a Certificate in Supervisory Management and is currently a member of the Mississippi Continuous Improvement Program (MS-CIP) 2025 Cohort.
