Donald “Don” Brown of Vicksburg has been reappointed by Governor Tate Reeves to serve a five-year term on the Mississippi State Personnel Board as an at-large member through June 30, 2030.
Brown was originally appointed to the Board by Governor Haley Barbour in 2005. He has served as chairman of the Board multiple times during his years of service. He is the deputy executive director of River Ridge Behavioral Health. He has worked with the Mississippi Employment Security Commission, the Mississippi Department of Human Services, and the Vicksburg Early Education Center. Brown also serves as the chairman of the State Rehabilitation Council for the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services. He is a member of the College Savings Mississippi Board and the Mississippi Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee.
He currently serves as chairman of the Warren County Port Commission and is a member of the Vicksburg-Warren Chamber of Commerce. He is a past president of the Rotary Club of Vicksburg and volunteers for the United Way of Central Mississippi. Brown is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He and his family attend Mt. Zion No. 1 M. B. Church of Vicksburg, where he serves as a trustee.
