Office of Workforce Development
The Office of Workforce Development assists agencies with
effective employee training and a professional development system
that inspires trust, clarifies purpose, aligns systems and develops
talent.
Workforce Development is a systematic process for identifying the
human capital required to meet agency goals and developing the
strategies to meet those requirements.
The goal of the Office of Workforce Development is to provide State
agencies with the tools, information, and training needed to ensure
a quality workforce for State government.
The Office of Workforce Development has two programmatic
functional areas: Talent Management and Career
Development.
The Talent Management Division provides agencies with
management tools to measure performance, competencies and skill
sets, and identify methods to improve performance.
The Career Development Division provides agencies and
State employees with certification and professional development
programs such as the Certified Public Manager (CPM) program, the
Human Resources Certification Program (HRCP),
and the Administrative Support Certification Program (ASCP).
