News Senate Confirms Appointment of Scott Shoemaker to the Mississippi State Personnel Board

The Mississippi Senate has confirmed Governor Tate Reeves’s appointment of Scott Shoemaker to the Mississippi State Personnel Board to fill a term through June 30, 2023.  Shoemaker will represent the First Supreme Court District on the board.

Shoemaker is the president and broker of Shoemaker Homes in Ridgeland. He is a past president of the Home Builders Association of Jackson, the Home Builders Association of Mississippi, and the Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce.

Shoemaker is the recipient of ten “Best of Mississippi” Awards from the Home Builders Association and recently received two Clarion Ledger People’s Choice Awards for “Best Homebuilder”.  In 2015, he became a life director with the National Association of Home Builders.  In 2014, he received the Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Award.  Shoemaker is also the recipient of two “Top 40 Under 40” Awards, one from Professional Builder magazine and one from the Mississippi Business Journal. In 2007, he was selected as “Builder of the Year” by the Home Builders Association of Jackson and the Home Builders Association of Mississippi.

He built two homes for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and built the Blair E. Batson Miracle Home in 2014.

Active in the community, Shoemaker currently serves on several boards including BancorpSouth’s Mid-Mississippi Board of Directors and Hospice Ministries.
