Michael Finley Joins MSPB as Director of Training and Development

 

Jackson, Miss. (July 11, 2022) – The Mississippi State Personnel Board announces that Michael Finley will serve as the agency’s director of training and development. In this role, Finley will oversee the state’s training programs and professional development courses for state employees.

“Michael’s qualifications and his unique experience in curriculum development and training will benefit the MSPB team, the classes we offer, and the agencies we serve,” says MSPB Executive Director Kelly Hardwick.

Finley brings experience in leadership, training, and security. He recently served as curriculum manager for the National Center of Spectator Sports, Safety, and Security at the University of Southern Mississippi. Prior to his experience at USM, he was a member of the Dallas Police department. He has also served as president of the Texas Tactical Police Offers Association and helped author the State of Texas certification standards for SWAT.

Along with his experience, Finley is a certified Project Management Professional and Myers Briggs practitioner. He received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice and a master’s in human capital development from the University of Southern Mississippi.

MSPB’s Office of Training and Development offers training programs tailored to state government entities to provide essential knowledge and leadership skills for successful public service.
