Jackson, Miss. (February 21, 2019) – The Mississippi State Personnel Board approved a request from the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency for a reduction-in-force affecting a total of two filled positions.  According to the agency, this action is necessary due to a shortage of federal funds and a shortage of work.  These positions were federally funded for Hurricane Katrina projects.

“The Mississippi State Personnel Board evaluated the request from the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and determined that the agency followed the proper policies and procedures for implementing their action plan predicated by a shortage of funds and work,” said Kelly Hardwick, Executive Director of the Mississippi State Personnel Board.
