Created On: 11/5/2021 6:54:16 AM

Ryan Beard, MSPB’s director of classification, compensation, and recruitment will serve as the president of the National Compensation Association of State Governments (NCASG) in 2022.  NCASG provides a forum for compensation professionals from member states to exchange information, professional expertise, and knowledge related to the compensation of state government employees.

In his current role at MSPB, Beard serves as the project leader for Project SEC2, MSPB’s state employee classification and compensation initiative. He is responsible for collaborating with the project team and steering committee to overhaul the state’s variable compensation plan, the first revision of this magnitude since 1981.  The goal of Project SEC2 is to create a classification and compensation system that is fair and equitable for Mississippi’s 25,000 state employees.

Over the past fifteen years, he has served in various capacities with the Mississippi State Personnel Board and as assistant human resources director for the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services.  He has served as a board member, vice president, and president of the Mississippi Association of Personnel Administrators and as the vice chairman and chairman of the State Agencies Self-Insured Workers’ Compensation Trust.
